ABOUT

Jakob Held is an interdisciplinary designer exploring the intersection of fashion, technology, and material experimentation. Their work investigates how emerging tools—such as 3D printing, algorithmic modeling, and sensor-based interactivity—can expand the language of fashion and costume. Drawing on couture traditions as well as digital fabrication, Jakob creates garments and objects that merge organic systems with human form. Projects range from motorized, responsive textiles to cast metal jewelry derived from custom algorithms, each testing how computational structures can take on new life when translated into physical materials. Equally rooted in digital environments, Jakob also builds immersive simulations that extend these ideas into virtual space, treating fashion not only as clothing but as performance and architecture. Across mediums, their practice is defined by a drive to merge craft with code, exploring how technology reshapes the body, behavior, and identity.
